When we were first told what the final exam was, I was really lost about what I should do my project on. I mean I had no clue if I wanted to paint, draw, make a comic strip, or edit an image using Photoshop. I thought about it and realized that I enjoyed using Photoshop, because it is really new to me and fun. For an image I decide to use the NBA all-star Chris Paul who is also my favorite player.
I have grown up with a ball in my hand since I was just a toddler, and even the first word I ever said was “ball”. Basketball slowly developed into my favorite sport. The game of basketball is amazing because of the combination of fines, physical toughness, mental toughness, strategy and composure that it requires. So I decided since I love basketball and I am beginning to love Photoshop, I minas well create a basketball image of my favorite player on Photoshop.
I wanted to portray that Chris Paul is really an amazing NBA player. I t took me a while to really figure out how I was going to do that. I thought about making a background of stars, flames, or a city however when I put them into Photoshop they never really fit what I was looking for. Those backgrounds looked cool but they just didn’t portray the message I was trying to get through to the viewer.
I read a comment a fellow classmate made about my photo, and he suggested that I incorporate lightning bolts into the photo. I thought it was a good suggestion; however it ended up being a great suggestion because it started getting the wheels turning in my head. Instead of just incorporating lightning bolts into the photo I decided to make the background a lightning storm. I searched for while on the internet and found many cool photos of lightening storms but nothing really was that perfect storm I was looking for. I finally found the photo that I used for the final project, and it is a fierce lightening storm over the water with the moon shinning across the water. This was perfect because the background had an amazing lightening storm and the moon created a glow around Chris Paul that brought light to the photo. It made it seem as though he was fighting through the storm and just made it out to the light.
The photo was great at this point but it was still missing something and I couldn’t figure out what. I tried incorporating Chris Paul’s head looking down over him, and crowd around him but nothing looked right. Again a classmate commented and suggested to highlight the word “amazing” and incorporate a lion into the photo so it was as if Chris Paul was fast enough to get away from the lion. I tried it and it was perfect.
I really enjoyed working on this project. I was extremely pleased with how well my final edit of the photo came out; it just portrayed everything I wanted. I learned so much from it as well. I realize now that the creative process isn’t just portraying a “creative” something. The creative process takes time, effort, and a little help from your peers. I have never asked for suggestions before, but after doing it for this class I realized how much better my creations were and was more pleased with my final projects.

How Do We Know What We Know Essay
In my slide show i focused on what is good and what we know. I used the slides I did because I feel babies are the main foundations of what is good. They are pure and havn't been influenced their whole life by outside sources. Babies are innocent, love to laugh and love to have fun and to me that is what is being good. Yes they might cry are get anger or fight with siblings but that is natural. I feel like today in society we think some things are worse then they really are. We need to sit back and let life happen, because good will always come in the end. We are too stuck up on wanting good now and do not see the whole picture.
The other two pictures I have of good is of the lady helping the elder, I just feel like this is touching and it is right to help people who need help. The other picture is directly related to that in that the people holding hands around the world shows how every body needs to help their neighbors whether they are the person next door or the people across the ocean.
The last picture is of the stars and space, which represents what we know. We as a human race feel like we know so much as space portrays, we are only scratching the surfaces of the truths that lie out there. It's like getting to know another person, at first glance we characterize them and believe we know who they are but the truth is is take time to really get to know someone for who they really are.
Aristotle believed that the world could be understood at a fundamental level through the detailed observation and cataloging of phenomenon, so he basically beleived in science. I agree with Aristotle's beliefs, because I can understand it and it obove all makes sense. You do not have to question it because it is what it is and nothing else. I like knowing and knowing for a fact. Facts are what are important, not creations by the imagination.

PIMP, HACK, MOD
PIMP- Not so much of an upgrade, but add ons to make product flashy, stand out, popular. Almost creating a product into "hollywood". It's generally just too much and overwhelming for the eyes.
HACK- mashing something up. I think of it as something like a collage. example may be from the old show junk yard wards where they took anything and everything to make a machine. Ridiculous looking and just crazy and ragedy.
MOD- I think of it as modifications. To make a products performance better. Using better material that improves performance, is more durable, lighters, more springing, tougher and etc. Creating a better and more advanced product.

Analysis Of comic strip
With a plain background the yellow monsters eyes really stick out but it also hides the characters. I feel the plain black and white background is perfect expect I feel I should add some color to most importantly the characters. The characters are not very distinct, but with the addition of specific bright colors I might be able to achieve a more stand out affect.
One characteristic that does separate the characters are the kind of wacky hair style.
The grey does represent the lights being turned off and the room being dark but if the viewer somehow didn’t pick up on the light switch tey might mistaken the grey diagonal lines as rain.
I did forget to put a window in the second slide but other than that the stage is pretty much the same in each scene which is good. Something somewhat confusing is when I uploaded the slides I couldn’t line them up horizontally and when I tried to line them up vertically they are backwards.

Fielman's Model
This piece of art created by Cornell comes across to me as very dull. There are a lot of dull and darker blues that seem to be sad, almost like the boy in the middle is drowning. There are many thin lines crossing over the box creating small frames, and dangling from one of the strings there is a suspended ring. There are many cubes with pictures of the boy on them with the exception of the turned block in the bottom left corner and the four cubes with a girl on them, the rest of the cubes are identical. There is a class slab towards the bottom of the box and coming up from that there are two posts that look like they almost are floor plans. There are a few random shapes in the box including two circles in the upper two corners, a star, crown the number 5, and the number 2. Besides the blues there are whites surrounded with blacks and grays that set a real dull tone.I was a little confused on the meaning of this piece of art but after a while I felt with the box Cornell was trying to portray pressure put on an individual by their own selves for several common reasons. I feel this way because here you have a lonely looking boy with pictures of him pointed in at him seeming to put pressure on him. With the strings it seems like he was trying to show how pressure really holds people down. The random objects and the women are showing the problems that put pressure on the boy. The girl could have been a loved one the boy was have trouble with. The numbers could the pressure put on him from either money, time, or grades. The star and crown are showing the pressure put on the boy to reach stardom of greatness.
In a simple summary this box has a boy in with all the pressures in his life surrounding him in the form of pictures on cubes.

Joseph Cornell interpretation

I felt Joseph's photo was interpreting pressure put on an individual by there own selves. So I switched it to athletics. I have kobe bryant a known superstar and how he targets himself out and put all focus on pushing himself to new limits. KNow matter what if you are that type person you will always have that motivation looming over head in the background pushing you and pushing you.
